Crowdtap Review 2026: Why We Cannot Recommend It Right Now

What is happening at Crowdtap

Crowdtap has not announced a shutdown, and its homepage and sign-up page are still live. But since late 2025 a steady stream of members have reported the same thing in public: surveys stopped arriving, sometimes after years of regular use, while support said the account was active and then stopped replying.

The evidence we checked in October 2026 points the same way. Crowdtap's help centre at support.crowdtap.com returned a Cloudflare server error. Of the 28 Trustpilot reviews from the last 12 months, 26 gave one star and none got a reply. The Better Business Bureau rates Crowdtap F, citing 96 complaints it failed to respond to, and lists 12 complaints in the last 12 months, including a $5 gift card requested in October 2025 that was never paid and a member who still had no surveys or reply in March 2026. Recent Google Play reviews from mid-2026 say the same, and the Android app was last updated in July 2025.

We will update this review if surveys and support return. Until then, treat Crowdtap as unreliable.

How Crowdtap is meant to work

Crowdtap is the member app of Suzy, Inc., a New York consumer research company that sells quick answers from consumers to brands. The site has been online since at least 2010, and its homepage claims 2 million users. It runs on the web and on iOS and Android.

Instead of long surveys, Crowdtap sends short questions and polls, sometimes a single question at a time, and each one earns points. Top members can also be invited to paid interviews, which Crowdtap says pay $25, $50 or more. Which questions you get depends on your profile and on scores Crowdtap assigns from your past answers.

The terms limit membership to individuals in the 50 US states and DC, aged 13 or over, with a parent or guardian's permission for anyone under the age of majority in their state.

Points, rewards and expiry

Crowdtap's Google Play listing says the payout is a $5 gift card for 1,000 points, which makes a point worth half a cent. Rewards are gift cards only, from retailers such as Amazon, Nike, Sephora, Xbox and eBay; there is no PayPal or cash. Crowdtap's old help centre said gift cards arrive within 2 business days, and the terms say Crowdtap may verify your identity before a redemption.

Points expire. The terms say points expire one year from the last day of the month in which you earned them: points earned in June expire at the end of June the following year. Crowdtap's own advice was to redeem early and hold gift cards rather than points, since gift cards do not expire.

The terms also let Crowdtap change point values, rewards and expiry dates at any time without notice, and say points have no cash value.

Is Crowdtap legit?

Crowdtap is a real app run by a real company, and for years members were paid. Its App Store rating is still 4.2 from about 7,300 ratings, built up over years of use.

The recent record is another matter. Trustpilot scores Crowdtap 1.4 from 970 reviews, with 93% of the last 12 months' reviews at one star. The BBB rates it F and lists 198 complaints in three years. Google Play gives 3.2 from about 10,500 reviews, with the newest describing no surveys for months.

Our read: Crowdtap was a pleasant way to earn small gift cards, but as of October 2026 the evidence says new members are unlikely to get surveys and those with problems are unlikely to get help. If you already have points, redeem them now. If you want a quick-question app, try a different one.

If you already have a Crowdtap balance

• Redeem as soon as you reach $5; points expire a year after the month you earned them.
• Screenshot your balance and any pending redemption in case you need to dispute it.
• If a gift card fails to arrive, the BBB complaint page is where recent members have recorded unresolved cases.
• Move your survey time to an app that is still paying, such as Prime Opinion or Branded Surveys.
