Valued Opinions Review 2026: Dynata's Gift Card Panel, Dollar Credit, a $50 Rule and Credit That Expires

How Valued Opinions works

Valued Opinions is a market research panel established in 2004 and run by Dynata, the research data company formed from Research Now and Survey Sampling International, which also runs Opinion Outpost. The brand belongs to Dynata Global UK Limited in London, and the US terms are with Dynata, LLC. Dynata says the panel has over 3 million members worldwide.

You sign up with a short form, activate your account from the email, and a first survey is waiting. After that, invitations arrive by email and on your dashboard. Besides surveys, Dynata runs product tests, advert reviews and diary studies through the panel, and the terms add focus groups and offers.

There are local sites in the US and the UK, and in Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore, South Africa, Japan, several other Asian markets and Turkey; in Germany and France the same panel runs as Meinungsstudie and Votre Opinion. In the US you must be 17 or over and in the UK 16 or over, with one account per person. Valued Opinions has no app of its own; the site works in a mobile browser.

What you earn

Valued Opinions pays in credit shown in your local currency, so there is no points table to decode, and a survey's reward is stated before you start. What it does not publish is an average. Its US About and Rewards pages say up to $5 per survey, while its homepage and Surveys page say up to $7; the UK site says up to £5 or £6. Treat those as ceilings.

Dynata decides each survey's reward. Its member help centre says the reward depends on how long and detailed a survey is, that surveys typically take around 15 to 20 minutes, and that each survey tile shows the length and reward before you start. Valued Opinions' old US help centre added member activity, tenure and how likely you are to complete as factors. Most surveys credit shortly after a quality check; product tests, diaries and focus groups can take up to 6 weeks after the study closes.

Each survey starts with screening questions. If a survey screens you out, Dynata's help centre says you are still credited, but only for the first 5 screen-outs in any 24 hours, and it does not say how much. Recent Trustpilot complaints are mostly about being screened out after 20 or 30 minutes, near the end of a survey.

Cashing out

The US rewards page lists only gift cards and similar rewards: Amazon, Target, Macy's, Apple, Nike, The Home Depot, CVS, Kroger, DoorDash, Uber, Chili's and Domino's, plus Southwest Rapid Rewards points and a $20 UNICEF donation. The UK lists retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Argos, M&S, John Lewis and Amazon.co.uk. Valued Opinions offered a $10 PayPal reward in 2021, but PayPal is not on either rewards page now.

The threshold is unclear. In January 2021 the US help centre said you could redeem once your balance reached $10. Dynata's current terms set the minimum at the equivalent of $50, but let Dynata offer rewards with lower thresholds without notice, and the $20 UNICEF donation shows lower amounts exist. Check the smallest reward in your account after you join.

The rules that apply to every redemption:

• Credit leaves your balance when you request a reward, and redemptions are final.
• You can redeem at most twice in 24 hours.
• Your first redemption may need a code sent to a mobile or landline number.
• Dynata may ask you to verify your identity through Veriff before you redeem. The help centre says you only do this once, the link expires after 7 days, and an ID that does not match your account details can hold redemptions for up to 72 hours.
• Dynata will not replace a lost or stolen reward.
• In the US, once payments reach $1,999 in a tax year your account can be suspended until you send a verified W-9 form, and Dynata issues a 1099-NEC.

Digital rewards should arrive by email within 24 hours, by the help centre's account, and can be re-sent from Reward History in your account.

If your balance or a redemption looks wrong, the terms say to email support@valuedopinions.com. The help page offers a support assistant and contact form.

Credit expiry and inactive accounts

Under Dynata's terms, every credit expires one year after it posts. The member help centre is more generous: it says your balance never expires as long as you are an active panel member. Redeem regularly and the difference never matters. Separately, your account only counts as active if you take part in a survey or update your profile at least once every six months; otherwise Dynata can deactivate it. A deactivated member, or one who leaves, gets 30 days to redeem what is left, subject to the minimum threshold. Anyone terminated for breaking the terms loses everything.

Dynata can also deactivate an account if its emails to you bounce, or after three mailbox-full replies, so keep your email address working.

The terms also let Dynata change reward values, redemption levels and membership conditions at any time without notice, and count speeding, taking a survey twice, false answers and second accounts as fraud.

Is Valued Opinions legit?

Yes. Valued Opinions has run since 2004 and belongs to Dynata, which its About page calls the largest online survey company in the world and lists as a member of the Market Research Society. Dynata went through a prepackaged Chapter 11 reorganisation in 2024 to cut its debt, filing in May and emerging in July with new owners including Bain Capital, and its panels kept operating.

Members are divided. Trustpilot scores the US site 3.9 from 2,723 reviews and the UK site 4.0 from 4,606. In the last 12 months the US profile received 89 reviews, all unprompted, of which 57% gave 5 stars and 23% gave 1 star, and Valued Opinions did not reply to the negative ones. The positive reviews mention gift cards arriving within minutes and easy surveys; the negative ones describe screen-outs late in long surveys and accounts closed after an ID check or with a balance waiting.

Our read: Valued Opinions is a legitimate, long-running Dynata panel with honest, dollar-denominated rewards, but it pays only in gift cards and shares Opinion Outpost's strict rules on expiry and inactivity. Join it if you shop at the retailers it offers, redeem as soon as you can, and pair it with a site that pays in cash.

How to get the most out of Valued Opinions

• Complete your profile; Dynata matches surveys to it and asks you to review it every six months.
• Take a survey or update your profile at least every six months so the account stays active.
• Redeem at the smallest reward offered rather than saving up; the terms expire credit after a year.
• Check the length before starting and answer carefully; Dynata treats speeding and inconsistent answers as fraud.
• Keep your email address working, since bounced emails can deactivate the account.
• Have ID ready in case Veriff asks you to verify before a redemption.
• Pair it with a site that pays by PayPal, such as Prolific or Branded Surveys.
